The Discovery Flight
From $210 + taxBefore committing to full training, experience flight in our aircraft. You will take the controls under instruction, feel the responsiveness of an Advanced Ultralight, and discuss your aviation goals with an instructor. All flight time logged is officially credited toward your pilot permit.

$625.00 deposit + GSTThe enrollment process takes approximately 15 minutes. The initial deposit of $625.00 + GST covers your entire Ground School course tuition ($350) and all required books and navigation aids in the official Ground School Kit ($275). Transport Canada requires Proof of Citizenship, Proof of Age, and a simple Category 4 Medical Declaration.

Open 7 Days / WeekYou and the weather set your training schedule! Fly whenever conditions are suitable (winds under 20 km/h and no heavy rain). Initial flight lessons run approximately 1 hour, expanding to 1.5 hours as your skills advance. Fly once a week or accelerate to twice a week. We accept major credit cards, e-Transfer, and pay-as-you-go.

Next Intake: Oct 18, 2026Held Sunday, Tuesday, and Thursday evenings from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM via live Zoom. You can attend ground school at any point during your flight training—it does not need to be finished before your first flight lessons! Enjoy free unlimited retakes anytime.

Our Transport Canada syllabus develops precise aircraft handling, safety reflexes, and confident airmanship.
Pre-Flight Inspection
Airframe walkaround, fuel sampling, oil checks, control linkages, pitot-static system, and cabin security checks.
Taxiing & Ground Handling
Steering with rudder pedals, differential braking, crosswind taxi corrections, and ramp safety procedures.
Takeoffs & Landings
Normal, short-field, and soft-field takeoffs and landings, flare control, and circuit flying at Duncan Airport.
Straight & Level Flight
Visual horizon attitude references, trim utilization, power setting management, and cruise efficiency.
Climbing & Descending
Best angle of climb (Vx), best rate of climb (Vy), glide configurations, power-off descents, and engine cooling.
Slow Flight & Side-Slipping
Controlling aircraft behind the power curve, coordinated rudder control, and forward slipping to lose altitude without speed.
Stalls & Spiral Dives
Recognizing imminent stall warnings, aerodynamic stall recovery techniques, and spiral dive recognition and exit.
Cross-Country Navigation
Dead reckoning, chart reading across Gulf Islands, diversion strategies, and enroute weather analysis.
Aviation Radio Procedures
Standard Canadian VFR phraseology, uncontrolled aerodrome calls, and flight information communications.
Age & Medical Requirements
Transport Canada regulations make ultralight flying one of the most accessible forms of aviation in Canada.
Age Requirements
- Student Pilot Permit: Minimum 14 years
- Pilot Permit (Ultralight): Minimum 16 years
- Instructor Rating: Minimum 18 years
- Maximum Age: NO MAXIMUM AGE
Proof of Medical
Category 4 Medical Declaration (Form 26-0297): A simple self-declared medical with Part B completed and signed by you. The validity period for a Student Pilot Permit is 60 months.
Passenger Carrying Endorsement: Requires the same Category 4 medical declaration with Part C signed by a physician licensed to practice in Canada.

Passenger Carrying Rating
Share the joy of flight with someone special. Requires 3 to 5 hours of dual instruction in our Tecnam P92 and a Transport Canada flight test to qualify for carrying passengers.

Mountain Flying Course

Conventional Pilot Checkout
Already have a PPL or CPL? Transition smoothly to modern ultralights, lower wing loadings, and Rotax powerplants with 5 hours of briefings and 5 hours of dual instruction in the Tecnam P92.
